Instead
of being trained to sit at the table and eat with
others (a slow and admittedly painful
journey for all concerned), this author's toddler is
learning that squirming and complaining in her high chair will be rewarded not just with free play, but also a sweet and filling treat.
There are some things I've
learned on this
journey called motherhood, like self - care short - cuts, that have helped me take care
of myself even when I'm needed in multiple
other places simultaneously.
In my
journey I
learned that I love snuggling, bed sharing, nursing, among
other things, and I also had to work hard to find ways to take care
