supports the internationalization of coursework
at the three universities.
Emerging technologies have capabilities (
supporting distributed cognition, situated
learning, diagnostic assessment, psychological immersion, modeling, visualization, collaboration and community) that enable sophisticated and powerful forms of
learning,
at scale and not requiring personal heroism by
teachers.
Students start off by watching the videos, then two or three present a brief summary to their classmates in the lesson (
at this point they discuss what they've
learnt, including any misconceptions, and ask questions), then move to textbook exercises with
teacher support if needed and, if they choose, stretch challenges.
Ideally, coaching is one professional
learning structure among others (workshops, PLCs)-- all contributing to a larger strategy for
supporting teacher learning aimed
at the same goals.
Folks across Project L.I.F.T. don't always arrive
at perfect integration, but you can be assured that PD is quickly planned in areas where
teachers need to
learn more to
support the use of the resources.
