love this recipe, the
vegetables roasted are a great combo and this is a wonderful way to use your yams, or at
least that's what the photos looks like... Mr. smartie - pants (that's me) says yams are
sweeter than
sweet potatoes believe it or not, the higher starch content converts during cooking making the sugars... I love both, grilled
sweet potatoes are an all time favorite with steaks
3 - 4 cups fresh, organic and seasonal veggies (use at
least one green veggie such as spinach or kale and one orange or root
vegetable such as carrot,
sweet potato or squash)
Add
vegetables and
sweet onion and let sit until slightly softened and pickled; ideally you want these to sit at
least 1 hour, but if you are short on time, 10 minutes and massaging gently to soften a bit will get the job done.

Every meal other than breakfast (and then sometimes even breakfast, if I'm having fava beans — traditional Egyptian breakfast staple) starts with onions and garlic and includes a starch, a bean or lentil, at
least one other non-green
vegetable (
sweet peppers, mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini are the go - tos) and a green.
My advice is to stick with the no - grains thing for at
least a month, but increase your intake of
vegetables a lot and add 1 cup of
sweet potatoes to your meal after your workout — it sounds like when you cut grains you're not getting enough carbs, and low - carb doesn't work for everyone.
