But to us owners it can be rather upsetting to find
dead mice and birds
left on our doorstep, especially if they are well chewed.
If your cat goes outside, be prepared to deal with the
dead — or worse, dying — birds and small mammals (
mice, voles, baby rabbits), snakes, and other wounded creatures that your cat may
leave on your doorstep!
And often island fox parents will
leave food, like a
dead mouse or two, in front of the cage.
