Anyways, I decided to
leave the church simply because I didn't approve what the pastor was doing.

I used to wonder why I was so «weak» and would get so emotional when the people would
leave and even mad at myself for not being able to just become tough and stay more emotionally distant with the people but a few close friends in the
church told me not to change because my reaction
simply shows what a caring shepherd I am.
Some Christians go through some (or all) of the experiences described above, and think that the unrest they feel is because
church is
simply a waste of time and energy, and so they
leave the
church... and Jesus too.
Gays feel they can affect politics, so they get involved there; but often they feel the

church model the desire for and pursuit of a just peace between enemies, or do we perpetuate a harsher politics where the winner takes all and the loser is
simply silenced or encouraged to

After reading the comments, this is the overall impression I get: Why would I
leave Christianity and the
Church * with all its exclusivist dogmatism
simply to run into the arms of another community that is just as exclusive and dogmatic?
However, unlike many people who
left religion, Legend wasn't hurt by the
Church — he still talks of it fondly — he
simply stopped believing like he once did.
If they no longer believe the doctrine they shopuld
simply leave the
church.

simply think that the decisions regarding pregnancy should be
left to those who are actually pregnant, not to the government or the

left behind their denominational origins now operate
simply as private «secular institutions, as is their right.
If as a pastor you have not had an opportunity to learn either kind of skill, you have several options: Arrange to get the training you need (perhaps your
church will provide a sabbatical
leave); or ask your
church to employ a «minister of group life and lay training» (with academic and clinical training in pastoral care and counseling); or employ a part - time pastoral counselor or accredited chaplain supervisor to coordinate lay training; or
simply find a competent supervisor in your community and get your own on - the - job training as a trainer by having him or her coach you as you do lay training.
I've been to many cathedrals,
churches, temples, mosques, gurdwaras, etc., where one could
simply come to the back of a service, listen to the speech, and
leave without really interacting with anyone.
I'm assuming the
church didn't
simply hide her whenever the police came around for a whole year, since she did interviews and such, but she was arrested when she
left, so the authorities were clearly still actively looking to arrest her.
