phone at home really depends on which Android Wear watch you have though.
The problem with wireless charging is that it limits where you can charge you device... firstly it needs to be compatible, otherwise you have to buy an add - on case etc... But the worst thing about it is the limitation of place to charge — you have to have the plate / charging pad constantly plugged in
at one location, so this means you have to have several plates around the house... after all, if i have one in my bedroom (a sensible place to charge over night) but if i come
home and i've used my
phone a lot, and been running, playing games, and so i need to top it up because i have dinner date in a few hours — i then have to go upstairs and
leave my in my bedroom
while i am down stairs...
If you want to be able to stream music
while you exercise, but you want to
leave your
phone back in the locker room or
at home, a cellular connection can certainly come in handy.
You do get a lot without going premium, though, like the Apple Watch app that lets you
leave your
phone at home,
while still tracking your stats.
While the utility of a cellular - connect smartwatch is likely limited, the ability to
leave your
phone at home, but still perform basic tasks, could be a big draw for some people still indifferent about wearable fitness devices.
