What is freedom for
What is freedom for you?
But the exploration of such a watch
leaves open lots of exciting questions: If the company does release such a product,
what would it look like?
After more than a year of testing with an employee - only focus group, Amazon Go
opens to the public Monday in downtown Seattle, putting to the test the online retailer's technology that lets shoppers grab
what they want and
leave without paying a cashier.
For instance, when the Catechism rejects both socialism and capitalism it
leaves open the question of
what «reasonable regulation» is.
That they are different
leaves entirely
open the question of the relative truth of our respective claims and the relative value of
what we offer.
What these folks never get, can never understand, is that you do get religion... and that you
left and remain gone with eyes wide
open — and that life has never been better!
You are
open and honest by
what you said, and for you to have
left the IC at your age tells me you have embraced the wisdom of your years and have been courageous enough to follow that wisdom, despite
what I would imagine some may have thought about that.
Generally defined as «dominating, restraining, or controlling another forcibly,» coercion involves interference with freedom, where «interference» means that the freedom in question is lessened in comparison with
what it would have been had the interfering individual or group not acted at all, and this broad designation
leaves open to dispute
what kinds of interference are immoral.
Worse, now they were
left with old wounds newly
opened and not a clue about
what to do with them in the future.
What I find weird is that people are posting everywhere how the owners of this place is such good Christians and how they are closed on Sunday due to this but these same individuals
leave church every Sunday and go to places that are
open to eat and also go to Wal - mart and malls.
Leaving aside all the gory details for a minute regarding the merits of his plan,
what continues to strike me as discomfiting (but increasingly predictable) about his technocratic leanings is not just a lack of transparency regarding his ultimate intentions but a deeper and more persistant distrust of
open public debate.
Now, to go back to the point I
left open at the start of this post,
what evolution does not explain (nor attempt to) is how the first complex living things arose.
The story
opened in a swank Protestant church where at the conclusion of the service a poor, unemployed, shabby young man got up and told his story of unemployment to the startled parishioners and ended by saying: «You can't all go out hunting up jobs for people like me, but
what I am puzzled about when I see so many Christians living in luxury and singing, «Jesus, I my cross have taken, all to
leave, and follow Thee,» is
what is meant by following Jesus?
One can thus see how the translators rendered the Latin subjunctive fiat as «let it be done,»
leaving open the possibility of readers interpreting it as a command, concession, or —
what I think is the most compelling, grammatically — a wish construction.
Leave all of your own evangelical hero complex baggage behind for once, and just go, innocent and wise and
open - handed, treat everyone you meet with reverence, and crack
open your heart, and worship together, and pray, and make friends, and see
what the great I AM is already doing in Haiti, and bear witness to the every - day work of the Kingdom of God.
Feeble attempts to appeal to the masses or to be hip and cool is
what leaves the Christian community
open to ridicule and jokes.
While artists and thinkers watch themselves for sincerity, the field is
left open for those to whom it never occurs that
what they say could be ridiculous.
I would be a decade older, a seminarian in a school that fancied itself sophisticated, before I would learn that people who
leave coffin lids
open at funerals and try to imagine
what the dead would think of all the fuss are barbarians.
If you were to carefully study the Bible with someone who truly know and understand scripture, and you kept an
opened mind,
leaving «bias» at the door, unlike evolutionist who teach you to
leave God at the door, then you might get enlighten and come to understand «
What The Bible Really teach!»
But if any knowledge of God mediated by psychical concepts would
leave open the possibility of its being merely symbolic instead of truly analogical,
what could rule out this possibility?
The very notion that «
leaves the door
open to creationism» begs the question of
what the writers agenda was.
This still
leaves open the question how much and just
what historical fact there is in the particular miracle stories of the Gospels.
The Spirit reminds of
what Jesus said but also leads through that door
left open by the words, «I have yet many things to say to you, but you can not bear them now.
I'm not a big fan of slippery slope arguments, and this is borderline, but in
what the justice said it boils down to «Will the person who
leaves on personal views of religion, also have their points and objections dismissed as not being noteworthy» because they chose to
leave during the
opening prayer.
Two equal dangers must be avoided: either speaking
what should be
left unspoken or failing to speak
what must be spoken.49 The pastor must at times be like a bell — an
open, clear, ringing public witness.
(Of course I'm
leaving the question of
what it looks like
open.)
It seems to follow that, just as a dominant philosophical imaginary governs the quality of understandings of the world, so the myths that inform a self - creating social imaginary must delimit
what that society can as well as should make of itself, while
leaving certain possibilities
open.
And since all three
leave open possibilities for maladaptive reactions, it becomes exceedingly difficult to pin down
what constitutes complexity and
what the effects of complexity may be.
The skilful traveller
leaves no traces of his wheels or footsteps; the skilful speaker says nothing that can be found fault with or blamed; the skilful reckoner uses no tallies; the skilful closer needs no bolts or bars, while to
open what he has shut will be impossible; the skilful binder uses no strings or knots, while to unloose
what he has bound will be impossible.
Immediately after the statement of the greatest happiness principle, he adds: «To give a clear view of the moral standard set up by the theory, much more requires to be said: in particular
what things it includes in the ideas of pain and pleasure, and to
what extent this is
left an
open question» (U 10).
If you'll permit me to
leave this thought: I have concluded after many years of «church hopping» to finally «no church» that
what we need in the «church» is not anything «new» as stated in your last paragraph but rather a «liberation from»... I conclude that the church (organized or free) considers this return to liberty (brought about by Christ) as a legitimate «next step» in the history of «church» but that is firstly a lie and secondly
opens up a door for even more destructive creativity by humans.
But
what is not necessarily excluded is another kind of cognition by which we
leave ourselves
open to being grasped by whatever higher or deeper ordering influence there may be.
A science that recognizes that a fuller explanation of
