For myself, I'm not going
the legacy publishing route nor am I going through an agent right now simply because I want to see how the industry shakes out.

Legacy publishers have become sort of like a cult — cutting writers off from the self -
publishing world, telling stories about how horrible it is «out there,» and claiming they control the only
route to legitimate success.
