Those perusing the Twitter hashtag stream from the ILTA Conference (#ILTA14) would have seen an incredible volume of statistics circulated over the course of four days — the 2014 ILTA / InsideLegal Technology Purchasing Survey and other
legal industry studies — notwithstanding.
Regular readers know we spend a lot of time reviewing and writing about
legal industry studies on these pages.
As 2014 draws to a close, here's a look at six studies — a quick reference guide to
legal industry studies — conducted by the LexisNexis software division with links to additional resources and downloads for those interested in digging deeper.
Over the last few weeks, there have been a flurry of
legal industry studies published, and while we haven't gotten to them all (yet), here's a summary (with plenty of links for further reading) of five recent ones that stood out for us.

The
study also highlights that the
legal industry is embracing technology as a way of improving its efficiency — more than 80 % of firms are using electronic communications more than they used to, and two - thirds of lawyers now use a personal digital assistant (PDA) device, such as a BlackBerry, at work.
Although the
industry context for my
study of consultants was different from the
legal consulting landscape there were some basic questions asked and lessons learned that could be of assistance to those in the
legal sphere looking to engage a consultant.

Law firm NPS is a target topic for Inavero's annual

legal clients reported an NPS rating of 19 % based on overall satisfaction with their firm (our sample focused on

industry insiders — including this writer — who spent a year
studying the trajectory of the
legal marketplace.
