skills and concepts in situations other than those in which they were originally learned.»

The approach leaves the reader with the impression that the apprentice system was an idyllic time when tutor and pupil collaborated on learning necessary
skills and that the whole enterprise of teaching
legal writing was undone
by Langdell because he did not believe that writing was important.5 This impression is a false one: the apprenticeship system was far from an idyllic
legal writing pedagogy, 6 and Langdell is at worst an unwilling and unwitting villain, given his enthusiastic participation in the
legal writing curriculum of his day.7
It was founded 2010
by two of the most experienced
legal professionals in Scandinavia when it comes to combining the practice of law with IT
skills.

by a university to pull together the various

skills into practice.
In law, I find myself increasingly sympathetic to firms who broadly lack these in - house
skills at any scale or level of responsibility and yet are constantly bombarded
by legal technology providers and industry analysts urging them to dramatically change the way they serve their clients and
by the way often at the same time, buy their products.
Thus practitioners in Scotland, in the cities and in rural areas alike, are able to serve their clients
by drawing on a pool of independent lawyers who are both
skilled court pleaders and also advisers on a wide range of
legal problems both general and specialist.
These are: (1) the role of the firm in serving the client's needs; (2) the specific assignment undertaken
by the lawyer; and (3) who, or what level of a person at the
legal organization, will work on the matter, including a proper division of
skills (senior attorney, specialist, newly employed associate or paralegal).
Where lawyers who do not want their jobs to depend upon on billing a high number of hours would not need to bill a high number of hours: Under a corporate structure, there would be no «leveraged pyramid» for partner compensation, fixed prices would be determined
by professionals
skilled in the pricing of
legal services, and the lawyers» jobs would depend upon their productivity.
In addition to training externs and clerks, an upper - level class in judicial opinion writing provides an opportunity for students to hone their
skills in writing for a particular audience, structuring and organizing, analyzing, and using rhetorical devices introduced during the first - year writing course through a different type of document.6 Such a course can cause students to look at the
legal process from a different perspective and to become better critical readers and users of opinions
by writing them.7 Thus, other goals of a judicial opinion writing course can include learning about the audiences of judicial opinions and the perspective judges bring to their opinion writing.
