The global company LexisNexis announced the first five participants in its new Silicon Valley
legal tech accelerator programme based in the Lex Machina offices in Menlo Park, California.
The programme comprises a Legal Innovation Lab located at the Collision 8 co-working space across the road from the Singapore Supreme Court (pictured); a virtual collaboration platform called LawNet Community; and South East Asia's first
legal tech accelerator to groom promising legal tech start - ups.
That trend parallels increased attention and investment in the legal technology sector by the large corporate players in the industry (e.g., Lexis's new
legal tech accelerator, Thompson Reuters Labs's new (partially) legal tech - focused focused incubator) and law firms» own internal efforts to develop and incorporate new technologies into their practices and menu of client services (e.g., Davis Wright Tremaine's DWT De Novo initiative, Bryan Cave's TechX department).
