lemon curd filling and then the second

Thin slices of
lemon are
layered and baked right into the
cake, which has a batter laden with
lemon zest, too.
Note that it doesn't mean that the recipe only calls for an egg yolk — sometimes, like in the case of my mini
lemon layer cake, the recipes uses whole eggs plus an egg yolk.

I did not know exactly what to do with it though so I made a vanilla
cake and put it between the
layers and topped it with vanilla icing and
lemon rind much like you were going to do.
I ended up being disappointed with the final product (but perhaps that's because it wasn't chocolate: — RRB - The
cake was a tiny bit dry and I wish I had used much more of the jam and
lemon creme in between
layers... 1/3 cup of each did not go very far and there was an awful lot of
lemon creme left over that went to waste.
Repeat process with second
cake layer, jam,
lemon cream, and meringue.
I also, with the recommendation, made a
lemon curd to stick between the
cake layers, on top also.
Instead of inside a crust, the tangy - sweet
lemon curd is spread between
layers of
cake which was then covered with fluffy meringue.
My kiwi
lemon cheesecake bites are a lot like mini ice cream
cakes, with a hazelnut date crust and a lusciously smooth
layer of cashew coconut cream — made sweet - tart with kiwi,
lemon and maple syrup.
There's good old fashioned Warm Chocolate
Cake ($ 11.5) with vanilla bean ice cream and raspberry sauce but, for a true New York experience, go for my personal favorite: the six -
