If we want to see and
understand those forces as they truly are, then we must look not to reason (which acts as a
distorting lens), but to our more immediate, primordial ways of knowing, that is, aesthetic intuition (the divine inspiration of the artist) and action.
But all of us necessarily view the Bible through the
lens of our own experiences and prejudices, and we must be very careful to ensure that
lens does not
distort our vision or
understanding of God's sacrosanct word.
