author's sales.
One journalist went so far as to say self - published books could «never» be on a par with those put out
by publishers, and even
other authors sniff about the «
lesser» quality of self - published books.
Additionally, Amazon totally controls the prices of self - pub e-books
by linking how big of an expense they are to what the
author sells for, pressuring
authors to sell for
less, and ensuring that the
author can't allow any
other vendor to undersell Amazon (although Amazon can undersell
other vendors.)
Like
others have mentioned, I'd also like to see more reviews of digital first books and perhaps more reviews on books written
by lesser known
authors.
One of the things I hear a lot is if you can get your ebooks translated into
other languages, then you might be able to sell better because there is
less competition in foreign markets for ebooks, and certainly ebooks
by indie
authors.

less said at the time, «this is what we found but we could easily be wrong», inviting
others to help figure out why.

lesser papers, along the lines of those which — • Confirm or deny the main thrust of a breakthrough paper
by arriving from
other angles • Provide an alternative or improvement to the main findings of breakthrough papers • Contribute more observation to the breakthrough paper and discuss its relevance • Seek to set a complementary base for a breakthrough in a related aspect of science • Report the views of a clutch of
authors about a topic they deem to have political importance • Ditto for educational importance • Write papers that are knowingly lacking good science to place
authors in one camp or another • Lambast an

authors for being on the «wrong» side of a polarised topic • Perform meta analysis Etc..
