I like more
cheese flavor and
less fat so I go with yogurt
instead of sour cream (and definitely no mayo) as well as the lemon or vinegar, and I usually grate in a (very) small clove of garlic too — somehow the tang plus the garlic gives the bleu something to think about and play off of without the added salt.
Also, for a slightly
less guilty version, I sauted the onions / garlic in a garlic olive oil
instead of butter, used reduced fat milk
instead of whole, and used a fat free cream
cheese and it tasted just as rich and heavenly!
1 1/2 packages of 1/3

cheese at room temperature 2 1/3 cups of powdered sugar, I use 1 3/4 cups 1 tablespoon coconut extract 1 cup coconut chips to decorate cake, you can also use chopped nuts

instead of full fat cream
cheese and tons of eggs and sugar like most cheesecakes have, I used 1/3
less fat cream
cheese and Greek yogurt, plus 1 egg and only 1/3 cup sugar.
Next time I'll use half n half with a little
less cheese and add chives
instead of green onions or maybe even toss in some steamed broccoli.
You can usually use
less cheese if you choose one with a stronger flavor (sharp cheddar
instead of mild, for example).
Try mixing cow's milk with breastmilk and slowly using
less breastmilk and more cow's milk (or offer yogurt,
cheese, etc... or even coconut or almost milk,
instead of milk — just check with your doctor first).
What to eat
instead: One stick of string
cheese has
less sugar than yogurt and won't overload you with calories.
You can also make the casein protein
less inflammatory (use A2
instead of A1 milk, try unpasteurized raw milk
cheese or even goat milk) but this post is not going into those details.
Reduce the fat intake by switching to products with
less fat: eat low fat butter and
cheese, use olive oil
instead of margarine in your cooking.

I followed the recipe exactly, aside from the fact that I used dairy - free alternatives (earth balance butter (use
less), and daiya cream
cheese), as well as a flax egg
instead of a real egg, and they turned out great!
