film many consider more a showreel for today's effects than a truly
enjoyable bit of filmmaking), and a TV series based on his»90s
film «True Lies».
Outside of Good Will Hunting and to a
lesser degree the
enjoyable Finding Forrester, Van Sant's
films have never been commercial draws.
In this case though the big finale comes out of almost nowhere, making the
film that much
less enjoyable since it was virtually impossible to figure it out beforehand.
