less obvious nods are made to Harry Potter, The Matrix, Iron Man, Mass Effect and even prior Saints Row games.

In recent years, Carpenter and his nightmare vision of a very believable future are finally receiving the recognition and respect they deserve, as no
less than Entertainment Weekly even proclaimed John Carpenter as the most influential director of 2014, citing many of last year's most
obvious nods to Carpenter and even specifically to Escape, like The Purge: Anarchy, Cold in July, and The Guest, to name a few.
While there are a few
obvious nods to Carpenter's Halloween early on, we would expect nothing
less of writer Kenny Caperton, who owns and lives in The Myers House NC (a life - size replica of Michael Myers» home), and the fun genre references are just beginning.
There are a few, such as the
nod to Mega Man I noted above, but they are far
less obvious than other games attempting the same thing.
