Perhaps the most
recognizable name identified with the Third Wave is John Wimber (though I'd certainly include
less sensational continualists like the recently - deceased Chuck Smith).
I've watched enough of the bigger
names to recognize them but you do an awesome job of digging into some
lesser known prospects that aren't always immediately
recognizable.
Other
names are
less familiar, but their faces are
recognizable to anyone who has seen independent films recently: Kevin Corrigan, Debi Mazar, Michael Imperioli.
While all the most
recognizable names are present, a good number of «
lesser known» characters play roles as well.
The three films that made her
name (plus her
lesser - known earlier works «Ode» and «River Of Grass») are immediately
recognizable as the work of the director, but very different from each other thematically, if perhaps not formally.
Jarvis» surname will be easily
recognizable to any Harry Potter fan (the cat's ginger coat is certainly a Weasley trait, if I've ever heard of one), but his first
name may be
less familiar, Kelly
named him after Jarvis Cocker, frontman of the English band Pulp.
The curators, Andrea Barnwell Brownlee and Karen Comer Lowe, assembled a list of artists with
recognizable names — Cindy Sherman and Lorna Simpson, among others — and also artists perhaps
less familiar such as Nandipha Mntambo, Berni Searle and Magdalene Odundo.
Willard Worden's
name is far
less recognizable than his contemporaries Alfred Stieglitz and Edward Weston, yet the San Francisco photographer (1868 - 1946) was one of the city's pre-eminent fine - art photographers at the turn of the 20th century.
However, I could imagine someone leaving rude, nasty, or silly comments on another,
lesser blog using their own
name or
recognizable username.
