It was fabulous but I would probably use a little
less rice milk next time and reduce the almond extract to 1/2 tsp.
Not exact matches
I suggest using a little
less brown
rice milk in the recipe and cooking them for slightly longer.
I have just cooked the blueberry muffins as you say they are like a liquid batter but they haven't turned into muffins they are just blueberry slop in bottom of muffin tins.I don't see how these can turn into muffins when they are just pure liquid and there is nothing in the recipe to bind them together.The only different ingredient I used was
rice milk as didn't have almond
milk and actually put
less maple syrup in as didn't have full amount so the recipe should have been even runnier.Am feeling a bit frustrated as the ingredients aren't cheap.
I have also made the following successful modifications: sometimes I omit the ginger and scallions, up the coconut to one cup and sub half coconut
milk for water, this makes for a
less complex but more intensely coconut flavored
rice.
Rice and flax
milks are indeed thinner /
less creamy than almond and soy
milks, but they would work just fine in this recipe, as would hemp, oat, hazelnut, or coconut (the stuff designed for drinking, not the canned kind, which has way more fat, and thickens or partially hardens in the fridge)
milks.
It has almost equal amounts of tapioca starch (15 %) and superfine brown
rice flour (14 %), with 10 % nonfat dry
milk, a wee bit of potato starch (3 %) and finally, and 2 % xanthan gum (slightly
less than Better Batter has).
If you substitute almond,
rice, or other
milk you may need
less milk or more oats to get the texture you want since coconut
milk tends to be pretty thick and we like it that way rather than runny
Thin the coconut
milk with an equal amount of water for a
less pronounced coconut flavor in the
rice.

Flavor: While almond and pecan

This was also delicious, though basmati is
less sticky than jasmine
rice, so the coconut
milk doesn't seem to absorb as much and tends to form more of a creamy coating on the grains.

You feel guilty eating it BUT the fact that it is made with brown
rice pasta, nut
milk, nutritional yeast, and vegan cheese makes it much

Because it is slightly sweet,
rice milk works well as a vegan
milk substitute in dessert recipes, but it is
less suited for savory or salty dishes, such as vegan mashed potatoes.
From my experiences I can tell you that yes, puree fed babies get more food down them, but then they drink
less milk (and
milk contains far more micro nutrients, vitamins and minerals per calorie than most food - particularly food such as baby
rice, which is mostly starch) they are also more prone to dehydration and constipation, as their fluid intake can be inadequate.
I had already been adding
rice cereal to her
milk to get her to spit up
less so she was familiar with the taste.
And actually for those who are a little reluctant about almond
milk, it can be substituted for
rice milk, but it's
less thick.
It contains more amount of protein than almond or
rice milk but it is
less proteinous than cow's
milk.
