While we might HOPE FOR THE BEST — that there will be a cooling trend (
less sun irradiance, etc) to exactly counteract our AGW trend (even so there is the negative effects of CO2, even without the warming — ocean acidification, crop loss to weed, etc)-- we should then be trying to AVERT THE WORST with even more drastic GHG cuts.

According to the skeptics, the solar
irradiance isn't very important, it is the strength of the
sun's magnetic field (that allows or stops cosmic rays from coming in which then causes more or
less clouds, which increases or decreases the Earth's albedo, which then causes warming or cooling of the Earth's surface).
To elaborate on the above, when the
sun enters a prolonged solar minimum condition an overall reduction takes place in solar spectral
irradiance, namely in UV light (wavelengths
less then 400 nm).
The study posits that one of the reasons for
less than perfect fit of sunspot and
irradiance data with temperature is that the
Sun actually works on a 21 year cycle when the sunspot cycle is combined with the cyclical wobble of the Suns motion through space.
