Synthetic fabrics such as polyester, nylon and rayon lower the quality and the lifetime of a garment - however, they have an array of strengths which downplay their weaknesses (low absorption ability,
less breathable) that make them ideal and not least, super-affordable.
However I also find that this makes the
fabric much thinner,
less long - lasting, and most importantly, IMPOSSIBLE for someone with a
synthetic fabric allergy to wear!
Avoid polyester, jersey,
synthetic, and any other
fabrics that are warm and allow
less heat to exit the body.
In cases where
synthetics fabrics are unavoidable — think bathing suits — try to wash
less frequently and by hand.
