The word «flesh» may be closer to Jesus» original eucharistic words
than «body» — more Hebraic,
less Greek, a more vivid
metaphor, harder to swallow.
But it is actually
less a contribution to critical theory
than a continuation of several themes from earlier books, including the search for a
metaphor or bridge from the self to the physical world.
While ordinary theologians can not conceive that ontological truth would be accessible in forms other
