Many choices have led to our economically segregated school system.1 Districts have chosen to let school boundaries reflect or even amplify residential segregation.
So let us just stipulate that there are no really good solutions, and school boards and administrators are often faced with very difficult decisions when having to redraw schoolboundaries.
