My educated guess is that it is just healing the digestive system or increasing digestive enzymes — that makes good nutritious food completely absorbed in few hours leaving very little residue
for expulsion (increased efficiency from an engineer's perspective) and not so good food getting quickly expelled from the
body — which makes the person productive in whatever they are supposed to do (Macro level action, taking care of digestive system
for example, in setting your
body in the correct path
for best functioning or preventing you from getting any disease or
letting you
recover fast).
Doing this allows
for the
body to adapt to the new workload, while also
letting it
recover and restore energy which is vital to any type of workout plan.
You put in VERY focused, super-concentrated effort
for short periods of time, then pull back and
let the gains pile up as your
body recovers.
Now take a couple of seconds to
let your
body recover and then repeat the process of reaching the point where your hamstrings tighten stopping in that position and breathing in, tensing the legs and buttocks
for a few seconds and then relaxing as you breath out.
But rest days are crucial
for exercise: they
let your
body recover.
