What works for us is giving two choices - take it or leave it; setting the example (it's «normal» for us to
eat veggies, all the kids do it at mealtimes); and
letting our kids choose 1 item that they never have to
eat if they don't want to (my 11 yo chooses to never have to
eat lentils!).

I REFUSE to
let her have hot dogs, chicken nuggets, etc, so when she won't
eat her meat or

Like it could be something like a good steak and
veggies, but it's gonna be like 600 calories, and if you just
eat that and
let's say you did a shake for breakfast because you were busy or you didn't feel like
eating in the morning, I mean, hell, you may only be at 1200 calories a day or something, which I don't count, but that's low so --
It's one of my favorite ways of mixing things up in the kitchen, especially in the summer months when the food I

Lets face it most of us aren't
eating tons of fruits and
veggies on a daily basis so cutting them out completely for even a month isn't going to kill anyone.
Lets be honest, no matter how much I prepare, I am always falling short on the amount of
veggies I'm
eating.
Last year, I made a resolution to
eat more fruits and
veggies, but
let me tell you it wasn't easy for me.
By increasing the protein intake, adding in some fruits,
veggies, and EFA's while still maintaining the overall calorie deficit, you now have a long term dieting approach that still
lets you
eat your damn twinkies every day.
After they get teeth and start
eating, I
let them sample anything in the kitchen from raw hamburger meat to
veggies to licking dishes.
I shut down when I hear about new fad diets and food lifestyle choices, and refuse to
let myself feel guilty for
eating bread, rice,
veggies, fruit, dairy, fat.
