I've received a great many responses to my comment, pro and con, and to my surprise they seem to be breaking down (albeit not perfectly) along ideological
lines, with conservatives (
of various faiths) joining me in criticizing the ruling and
liberals criticizing me for criticizing it.
In this
line of reasoning, which has the most
liberal, even antinomian, consequences, «justification by faith alone» is the only article
of faith that matters.
Most African Americans and hispanics hold conservative religious values and although outwardly due to undue pressure might toe the
