The only other reason to subscribe to a

journal collection in print is for preservation purposes — a consideration that really need concern only

libraries and not even all
of them.
Additionally, college
libraries offer access to
academic journals, reserach books, historical databases and other important periodicals, regardless
of the complexity
of the subject.
