For this reason, before an
educator uses the professional development for certificate /
license progression or renewal, the
employing school administrator / administration must have followed the steps indicated on the District Provided Professional Development (DPPD) Record for Certificate Renewal or Progression to a Professional Education Certificate:
Be
employed, for at least one year, as an
educator or provider in an early education and care program or out of school time program that is
licensed or authorized by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and continue employment in this field while pursuing the approved course of study.
Charter schools may only
employ educators who hold a valid teaching
license or who meet state board requirements for alternative licensure or authorization.
This program is for
educators and student support services professionals who work in K - 12 and college / university settings, and self -
employed licensed or certified career or college counselors and coaches.
