LICH patients
said they also liked Teachout.

LICH nurse and member of the New York State Nurses Association's executive committee at
LICH, speaking on her own behalf.

LICH, and the job of the governor should be not to
say all the reasons it doesn't work, but all the ways in it could work,» she
said.
SUNY responded to the resolution, citing a $ 4 million monthly loss in operating
LICH as their reason for closing the hospital, but added that losing the hospital and medical school «would be tragic,» SUNY
said in a letter to the City Council health committee, dated April 23.
Raboy, who has lived in Brooklyn Heights for more than 40 years,
said she would have died had it not been for the
LICH staff and her close proximity to the hospital.
«Governor Cuomo, this is the time for leadership,»
said James, referring to Cuomo's power to prevent
LICH from closing.
«This ruling gives us more time to work with the Department of Health, elected officials and community advocates to develop alternative solutions that will keep
LICH's vital services and good jobs in the community,»
said George Gresham, president of 1199SEIU in a press release, who sought the restraining order along with the New York State Nurses Association, Concerned Physicians of
LICH and others.

LICH for 15 years, is that I'm very sorry that you weren't able to save it but I realize it was a done deal,»

said he'd vote for Mr. Sikora.

LICH employees have been given «notice of the imminent closure» of the Cobble Hill hospital, Public Advocate and mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio
said in a statement.

said Bellafiore, adding that SUNY is following their state - approved «sustainability plan,» which would hand over
LICH to another healthcare operator.

Rosa Tavarez, a labor delivery nurse at
LICH,
said all cases in the hospital's operating room were going to be canceled, according to her supervisor, she
said.
As critical staff voluntarily leave the hospital, the administration has reduced hospital services, like diverting ambulances and moving patients and elective surgeries to other facilities,
said Bellafiore, adding that there are currently only 18 patients at
LICH.
While the hospital's emergency services are still running, it's not admitting any new patients,
said Lisa Tabora, an ER nurse at
LICH.
«[SUNY officials] don't care about the courts,»
said Dr. Alice Garner, who heads the neonatal intensive care unit at
LICH.
«No doubt Brooklyn needs more hospitals,»
said Jeff Strabone, who fought for years to keep
LICH open.
They all
said the fight isn't over, and they want
LICH to stay for the long term.
Admitting that there «was a big debate» surrounding the idea, he
says that his team «have definitely iterated on our quest process, our quest flow, with Burning Crusade and
Lich King.»
But this is a world where Glory is earned by killing chickens minding their own business, to
say nothing of chopping down
liches from other dimensions.
«In the utility industry, it's important to remember there is a lot of skepticism for things that are new,»
said Josh
Lich, Opower's director of product marketing.
«In many ways they led the way in how to do this, and now there is a template,»
