There is a fantastic open - air
lido at St. Julian's bay and a picturesque stretch of rocky coastline at Exiles Bay, which are popular locations for sunbathing.
The recently constructed Gardenia complex is located 150 metres from the beaches of
the lido at Alghero.

As well as the public beaches, most of which have sun beds, parasols and
at least a bar or two, you'll find lots of private
lidos, which charge a fee but usually have extras such as a pool or restaurant.
Mondello beach is an easy 30 minute bus ride from the centre of Palermo and although it was crowded with sun loungers
at the end of September by October the
lido had packed up and we could appreciate the long stretch of sand in all its glory.
There are some heavenly beaches nearby
at Marina di Grosseto: take your pick from a private
lido with sun loungers and bar service, or keep walking to find the empty and unspoilt corners of the beach.
The coast along St. Paul's Bay, although not sandy, is lined with two promenades
at Qawra and Bugibba, a number of large, flat rocks ideal for sunbathing and a series of
lidos, artificially installed to give holidaymakers somewhere to lounge.
