The shiny metal light fixtures and side table, the rough wooden floor, the shaggy faux fur area rug... when the palette is simple, use texture to add interest.
The wall and room can easily work with a black or almost black (like Benjamin Moore's Hale Navy pictured below... those rugs, I die) because of all the natural light it gets and it is still neutral enough to add other colorful accents in throws, area rugs and pillows.
Next I added area rugs — a small sisal and a cowhide from All Modern, and just the single small light fixture above the Ikea dining table, also from All Modern.
It's a lighter color so would probably show dirt more in a high traffic area but it's a durable rug.
