I used two coats of Provence and after that was completely dry (I waited about 4 hours), I gave
it a light coat of clear wax and let it sit overnight.

After some very
light distressing along some
of the edges, the hutch received a
coat of clear and dark
wax, and then a good buffing after it cured for 24 hours.
I painted the top with a grey primer I had and then used a
coat of country grey AS and a
coat of coco AS followed by
clear wax and a
light coat of dark.
