They mean characters
like the Koopalings / Spike / Kamek who have been playable in other games but not Mario Tennis.

like a copy and paste Kersti, and I wish they made more original characters and bosses
like Crump and Grubba to go alongside the
Koopalings (because Ludwig is the best).
Aside from that, the character roster is really packed this time around (although I would
like to know where the rest of the
Koopalings, Deadly Six, and Storm the Albatross are).
Even something that used to be a treat,
like seeing the
