like more than enough, instead just becomes a tiresome exercise.

like a zombie on Banoi, you've been absolutely starved for fresh meat, then
Riptide might be for you.

Dead Island really did drop the ball and the sequel,
Riptide, was just a cash in on people who
like to smash zombies.
It's abundantly clear that
Riptide is just going to be more of the same - no brand - new mechanics or anything
like that.
Final Verdict: Dead Island
Riptide is essentially more of the same, but it does mean that things get stale for quicker than you would
like.
Parts of the game are still kind of fun to play through cooperatively with friends — though, unlike in the first game, you sometimes feel
like you have to be playing in co-op to avoid being overwhelmed by awful infinite enemy spawns — but coming from the Dead Island, getting through
Riptide mostly just felt
like a slog that I wanted to be done with.
Deadzones help to pad the hours in
Riptide with rote, Horde mode -
like mechanics.
Riptide just feels cheap,
like a DLC cash - in, but at a $ 49.99 retail price.
Like other games of its type
Riptide assigns skill points as characters level up, which can be assigned to one of three skill trees.
Maybe that truly improved Dead Island will still come along someday, but in the meantime,
Riptide feels
like a game that didn't really need to be made.

Riptide does pick up straight after the end of the first game but in all other respects it feels
like an expansion pack, and not the good kind.
This isn't necessarily a bad thing since I enjoyed the original so much, but
Riptide is so full of production shortcuts, buggy annoyances, and uncorrected bad design that it's more
like a rush - job fan mod than something ready for prime time.
It doesn't sound
like a big deal, but
Riptide players will be spending a hefty amount of time fiddling with gear.
This is an integral part of the Disney brand, of course — projecting a super-fashionable and somewhat chaste version of adolescence, in which the
riptide undercurrents of hormonal acting out are always channeled in the most,
like, totally amusing and mock - outrageous ways.
