like to think
Generations was great (17 years later of failed games I might add yet that somehow makes up for everything) but they forget that half that game was modern
Sonic.
The
Sonic franchise was finally making a turn around with titles
like Sonic Colors and
Sonic Generations, now those of us without a Wii U console will be left out in the dark (and there are many of us according to console sales reports).
As for the
Sonic Generations trailer, it looks
like good game - play with nice speed and the changing of the camera angles around to keep things interesting.
Sonic Forces (SEGA, $ 39.99 / # 34.99)-- The long - awaited next entry in the 3D
Sonic series, drawing ideas from the
likes of
Generations and Colors.
That console
generation and the one which followed it marked a golden age for polygonal platformers, with series
like Crash Bandicoot, Banjo Kazooie, Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet and Clank as well as Sly Cooper showing how fresh and exciting the genre could be while old stalwarts
like Mario and
Sonic tried their luck in the third dimension, to varying degrees of success.
Much
like Sonic Unleashed and
Sonic Generations, Modern
Sonic's gameplay in
Sonic Forces mainly revolves around the boost mechanic.
I haven't seen a quality 3D
Sonic title since
Generations way back in 2011, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on what looked
like a promising return to form for Modern
Sonic.
From what I could tell, Classic
Sonic's momentum felt very much
like it did in
Sonic Generations — which is good, however, fans did express their concerns with the momentum not feeling
like that of the Genesis titles.
I remember fondly my first exposure to the Dreamcast with games
like Power Stone and
Sonic Adventure, which showed off brilliant graphical updates from the previous console
generation, accompanied by a rather awkward controller design for the console itself.
i would not be so bothered if they had different ability's but the new update i have already had to wait between 2 - 5 min between each game to load hope this sorts it self out as
generations and dash is the best

With some really exciting games
like Binary Domain, Guardian Heroes, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Renegade Ops, Crush3D and
Sonic Generations, not to mention Platinum Games» Anarchy Reigns already announced, is it too much to ask for some surprises too?
I love the idea too of producing 2D throwback games
like this and still making console
sonics for the newer
generations.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric should sully the main brand.
Don't get too excited about the 3DS version of
Sonic Lost World.The only stage that is in full 3d is only the Windy Hill act, and also you can't turn around in a circuliar way

Like most
Sonic Games,
Sonic Generations is about speed.
After a bit of fighting, Eggman killed a well known character from the SatAM days and powered up a device that enveloped the universe in white (hmm, sounds
like something that is happening in
Sonic Generations) and rebooted the entire universe.
Between the upcoming re-release of
Sonic CD, the ongoing
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and the sidescrolling elements of modern titles
like Sonic Colours, you'd be forgiven for thinking that
Sonic Generations is slightly redundant.
The Classic
Sonic stages may not stack up to anything from
Sonic Mania (or even
Generations, for that matter), but at least they actually feel
like there's something to them.
Like Generations,
Sonic Forces looks to combine both 2D and 3D
Sonic gameplay.
I'm surprised there isn't an official
Sonic Generations website
like Japan has with loads of goodies
like wallpapers and images.
