WiiWare, and the DSi, I understand, is going to have some downloadable content as well.
We'll have to see how it goes in the future but as for this week, it looks
like we're on an upward swing with Gyrostarr (High Voltage Software, 1 - 4 players, Rated E for Everyone - Mild Fantasy Violence, 700 Wii Points) coming out for
WiiWare along with Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Sega Master System, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone - Comic Mischief, 500 Wii Points) and BURNING FIGHT (NEOGEO, 1 - 2 players, Rated E10 + for Everyone 10 and Older - Mild Suggestive Themes, Violence, 900 Wii Points) for the Virtual Console.
I mean, how are games
like Block Breaker Deluxe (Gameloft, 1 - 2 players, Rated E for Everyone - Mild Suggestive Themes, 800 Wii Points) and Cocoto Fishing Master (Neko Entertainment, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 700 Wii Points), both coming out today for
WiiWare, supposed to compete with classic games
like this week's VC release SAMURAI SHODOWN (NEOGEO, 1 - 2 players, Rated T for Teen - Animated Blood, Crude Humor, Violence, 900 Wii Points)?
As said above, with the Wii Shop Channel shutting down in a year from now it'd be smart for some of the companies who put out
Wiiware titles to port their games over to other platforms
like Switch.
I actually
liked that
WiiWare had some nice exclusives
like this that Xbox Live Arcade and PSN didn't get.

I don't have a problem with the Wi's storage for the most part but occasionally (
like this week) I've bought so much new content from VC and
WiiWare that I now do not have enough storage to cover requirements for Guitar Hero On Tour.
Still, it makes it sound
like there's a lot of better things on
WiiWare, or that it's not one of the better games on the service.
It's
like «Hey, we realize that
WiiWare games aren't selling as well as we hoped they would, and think that demos do well... But its not our thing so we'll just find another way to make things work».
The game, which will be a download only — using Xbox Live,
Wiiware and PSN — looks to have visuals that resemble Braid, though the gameplay is completely different and plays
like a traditional 2D platformer.
With the
likes of
WiiWare's Flow and the more recent Mercury HG, viscous...
Ghost Mania has been released on
WiiWare today (January 7th in Europe) and for only 500
WiiWare Points it seems
like a fair bet.
While it is odd to have a cap at all, the cap is much higher and likely will never be a problem
like it was on DSiWare /
WiiWare.
For years, consoles had been «high walled gardens» for small games companies, with only a handful of lucky studios finding their way onto the green distribution pastures
like Microsoft's XBLA, Nintendo's
WiiWare and Sony's PlayStation Network (PSN).
And sure, a few titles
like Super Meat Boy and Shadow Complex have done their damnedest to school starving students on the glory days of 2D gaming, but if you really want to know what all the grandpa gamers out there are going on about, you'd have to do some serious
WiiWare - downloading, eBay - trolling homework.
Tales of Monkey Island has been around for over a year on PC and
WiiWare so it's not
like they've just finished it.
This is a great platform to develop for,» and then it was
like a gold rush and everybody was jumping on
WiiWare.
The PC / Mac edition doesn't feature co-op multiplayer
like NyxQuest's
WiiWare release, but it does offer new graphics and visual effects, Steam achievements, and mouse / keyboard controls.
I really
liked the demo, but I have about 5
wiiware games to finish still.
This puts me off buying new
WiiWare titles
like Retro City Rampage or even older ones I am interested in
like the Konami Rebirth games or Dr Mario.
It also seemed
like a quality title and not just some casual
wiiware slop.
