I must say that I am not the biggest racing fan out there, but if there is one subgenre of racing I do enjoy it is the fast paced futuristic action - packed racing found in games
like Wipeout and F - Zero.
The game looked more
like Wipeout, with its flowing and floaty nature, but as I delved deeper into the game I discovered it has successfully combined elements of both titles.
Sony released a stack of new trailers available for download on the PlayStation Store - reminding us of notable titles
like Wipeout HD, Fat Princess and Flower - but has also announced Savage Moon, a new Desktop Tower Defense style game which I'm sure will tickle the fancy of many PS3 owners waiting for more PixelJunk Monsters - like content.
These demos were not only great at showing off the PlayStation's technical capabilities, they also introduced the gaming public to a number of unique IP's
like WipEout and Parappa the Rappa, games that otherwise might have been overlooked.
All of the cars are pretty poorly detailed when compared to far more hi - res games
like WipEout and Uncharted.
Then came the big jump when games
like Wipeout hit the Playstation in 1995.
Hoping to emulate the success of titles
like Wipeout, F - Zero, and even Mario Kart, we had the chance to speak with indie upstart Supergonk about their upcoming game, Trailblazers.
If not it would be
like wipeout HD and run at 30 fps.

With nods to similar games
like WipeOut and Redout, Lightfield's spare presentation has some fun elements but unfortunately never quite moves beyond mild, casual engagement.
Not only have we failed to produce new games of this ilk, we've closed down some of the previous genre stalwarts; games
like Wipeout and Extreme - G are not even memories for most of us at this point.

I've had no problems with
Wipeout or GTA and was hoping for a similar arcade experience but it looks
like it's meant for a controller or steering wheel.
Wipeout Omega Collection probably wasn't meant to be mainlined

The aggressive Fury events from
WipEout HD arguably offer the greatest sense of satisfaction, with unique modes
like Zone Battle and Detenator on display.
WipEout Omega Collection doesn't necessarily bring anything new to the table, but it does offer the best possible version of all three games and plays

Fast Racing Neo is on its way, and expectations are that it should bring blazing fast racing goodness akin to the
likes of F - Zero or
Wipeout.
For a while, I was definitely playing; I had fantastic games
like Uncharted: Golden Abyss,

Smaller scale, yet still entertaining games
like Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Everybody's Golf,
Wipeout Omega Collection, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy kept things rolling during the summer months, but the exclusives scene got a bit bleak once Fall hit.
Today is chock full of PSone goodness as Sony kicks off a sale for an avalanche of classic PlayStation titles
like Destruction Derby, Rayman, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider,
WipEout...
Wipeout is kinda floaty though, F - Zero always feels
like the vehicles are more connected to the road (via magnets or whatever at least that's how it feels).
This doesn't include first party games from Nintendo and Sony
like Splatoon 2, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids, Xenoblade 2, Horizon: Zero Dawn,
Wipeout Omega Collection, Crash Bandicoot: N'Sane Trilogy, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Gran Turismo Sport.
We have already had the brilliant
Wipeout: Omega Collection and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe alongside solid games
like Flatout 4, MXGP 3, and MotoGP 17.
Maybe it was too hard to mimic, or maybe other developers respected the series enough to leave it alone, either way, there hasn't been much
like it, until the
Wipeout Omega Collection landed on PS4.
This isn't the first time Sony has tried something
like this as they had a similar deal going with the recently released PSN title Sound Shapes as well as
Wipeout 2048.
The #OscarsSoWhite issue can also be said to have been pre-empted — although many would have
liked to see Dee Rees in there for Mudbound, and the complete
wipeout for Kathryn Bigelow's fierce movie Detroit, with John Boyega, will surely be a bitter disappointment.
I'm not a portable fan myself but I have to admit, I really want to try titles
like Uncharted: Golden Abyss and
Wipeout 2048.
If you weren't all caught up in the yearly ritual, you had exciting releases to look forward to
like Tekken 7,
Wipeout Collection, Dirt 4, Crash Bandicoot trilogy, and DLCs for Diablo 3 and The Elder Scrolls Online.
When Sony Liverpool (once Psygnosis) was shut down earlier this year, it looked
like the end for the
WipEout series.
But typically at times
like that, valuations are high, so someone with an eye on valuation could avoid the
wipeout as momentum flattens.

like crap, that's why they finally gave up on it.
The system certainly had quantity on its side on day one, but names
like Uncharted,
Wipeout and MotorStorm meant it had quality too.
Maybe we'll count
Wipeout HD Fury Add - on since Bots
like to count DLC as full games.
Even better is the ambient - electronic soundtrack provided by veterans The Future Sound of London (who have featured on such legendary franchises as Mortal Kombat and
WipEout), providing a slow pulsating need to push your amoeba -
like being and narrative forward.
And it won't be standing alone on Sony's push for 3D - enabled gaming — other PS3 exclusives
like Gran Turismo 5, LittleBigPlanet,
Wipeout HD Fury, and Super Stardust HD will all stand with it.
With the
likes of Gran Turismo Sport,
WipEout Omega Collection VR and Doom VFR, the potential of the headset is looking even more promising as we enter 2018.
Vita racer
WipEout 2048 looks far better — if you put them side by side, they'd look
like they were from different consoles.
