Sure, we didn't get the shock value since we knew what Donkey Kong Country looked
like, but we got better levels, a great new character in Dixie, way more collectibles, a bonus world, trivia, new
animal buddies and a bigger challenge.

The placement of platforms, ropes, and enemies can get nefarious, but some new
animal buddies like the snake are happy to help Diddy and Dixie Kong.
Throw in stuff
like the Hero Cave that changes depending on which game you're playing, the different
animal buddies, and the meticulous ring system, and you have the best replay value out of any Zelda games out there.
Presumably these are a bit
like the ones in Banjo - Kazooie (and the
Animal Buddies in Donkey Kong Country 2/3/64), but the official site only says there'll be more information on them in the future.
Some of these objectives are simple,
like avoiding stepping on flowers or making sure you have a specific
animal buddy by the end of the stage so they can meet up with one of their loved ones.
