One of our family's favorite main dishes is pizza, and there's nothing
like basil pesto on a sourdough pizza crust!
If you already have another type of pesto lying around,
like basil pesto or even sundried tomato pesto, feel free to substitute that in as I'm sure the results will be delicious.

pesto can be used just
like conventional
basil pesto and is delicious on pasta, as a spread for pizza or a sandwich spread, as a dip for veggies or swirled into hummus.
I
like to change up the
pesto sauces I make and this time I swapped the traditional
basil pesto with fresh arugula
pesto.
I really

Cilantro and jalapeno sound
like a great
pesto mix:) Spinach works well in the
basil pesto — giving it some more uumpth.
3 Drain the pasta and add as much
pesto as you
like, then add the chopped tomatoes and the chopped

like dressing in the food processor with the
basil and garlic, but instead of using nuts or olive oil, I use a couple of the cooked red potatoes to give the dressing body and a slight creaminess.
So while making

like fun, I'm always a bit disappointed at the lack of
basil - y flavor.

Tip: Using only
basil in
pesto can be pretty pricey and if you're
like me and grow herbs in your garden or in pots around your house, you don't want to take a whole bunch for just for one recipe, so using spinach and other herbs helps!
In some ways I
like it as well as
pesto made with
basil.
I
like to use a mix of spinach and fresh
basil to create a generally - appealing
pesto flavor, but you can use all
basil if you prefer or another leafy green.
This was so yummy, I used the
basil pesto because I don't
like tomato sauce.
Pulsed cauliflower sautéed with onion takes the leading role in the «
pesto», much
like basil would in a traditional
pesto.
Love the
pesto with the
basil and spinach in it and I adore coconut milk so this looks
like a winner to me.

Easy ways to add flavor include: toss fresh herbs into the mix
like basil, cilantro or mint; whisk herbs, spices and raw or roasted garlic into oil and vinegar, and add pre-seasoned ingredients,
like herbed quinoa,
pesto - slathered grilled veggies, or spicy guacamole.
You could do this with baked fish or chicken too —
