As much as I love creamy pasta dishes
like bechamel - rich lasagna, macaroni and cheese, and baked pastas, that combination of ultra-rich dairy and pasta is a ticking tummy time bomb, so I try to avoid it unless it's really, truly worth it.
I thought for sure white pizza was pizza with a white sauce on it,
like a bechamel or something.

I honestly really don't
like green beans... But this version sounds so yummy with that fabulous
bechamel and those crispy onions!
This is also great because you can stuff it in many ways — I also love it with plain and simple chard + spinach sautèed in olive oil and garlic, or with tomato sauce (
like marinara) and mozzarella (again, vegan
bechamel if yo wan na stick to dairy - free).
Before going GF and dairy free I used to make lasagna with
bechamel and I think I
like this recipe more; the cashew cream is so rich and creamy.
You can absolutely skip the
bechamel or substitute your favorite vegan store - bought cheese if you
like, but it's a great way to round out the dish.
Use this for white sauces,
like white pepper gravy or a
Bechamel for mac and cheese.
I halved most of the recipe b / c he was the only one who was going to eat it (I don't eat meat) but I kept the
bechamel as is b / c I knew he wouldn't
like it on the dry side.
I make something that is a lot
like this, but with sauteed cauliflower + garlic, and no
bechamel or sausage.
I made this last night and it was loved by all, but my
bechamel looked more
like gravy than a smooth white sauce.
We
liked it with just the suggested amount of
bechamel — not too dry and certainly less calories.
I also put some of the cheese into the
bechamel, I just
like it that way.
Lactose - free life sucks but I don't want to give up beautiful things
like baked pasta and it's just not the same without the
