like career fairs — they tend to be overcrowded (especially on college campuses) and full of people being overly fake.

Although I've been fortunate enough to do various different roles in the 5 years since I graduated which has helped me narrow down different types of jobs I would
like to do, I definitely think attending a
Careers Fair or two whilst at University would have helped me figure out things earlier (and potentially given me more relevant work experience).
One of the best things about a
careers fair is being to walk around and just take in all of the different companies on display — it's a bit
like window shopping, really.
Employers
like to meet prospective students and one of the best ways to do this is through visiting campus to attend
careers fairs and events arranged by the
careers service.
Think of one or two small things you could do today (
like sign up for a
career fair, make an appointment at your school's
career services office, or do a practice interview)... and get going!
Job
fairs and
career events seem
like obvious places to find good contacts to expand your job hunt.
