You could also try substituting thick yoghurt
like coconut yoghurt, or if you're not plant based you could even try eggs.
I would personally avoid any dairy milk and would use a non dairy milk and non dairy yoghurt
like a coconut yoghurt instead as this will be much better for your health and help you lose weight faster.
It has the combination of typical tropical flavours
like coconut yoghurt, pineapple and mango.
Have the pancakes with a side of fresh fruit and if
you like some coconut yoghurt and maple syrup.

I use a totally plain
coconut yoghurt, that tastes
like greek
yoghurt — I'd say definitely find one with no sweetener or flavourings, as I'm sure that would make the dish taste a bit funny!
I
liked it served with
coconut yoghurt (as pictured), drowned in homemade almond milk or as a smoothie topper.
You can add a sweetener
like maple syrup too, but I don't usually as I find
coconut milk is slightly sweet by itself and also means I can use the
yoghurt in savoury dishes too.
The richness of pear, the smoothness of
coconut yoghurt and the sweet crunch of almond brittle was
like a song of praise to the beautiful marriage of different textures.

coconut yoghurt, however, I currently have dairy (I am not vegan).
If the icing sounds
like one step too many for you though, feel free to leave it off — I assure you this slice tastes just as good un-iced (especially if you keep it on the slightly underdone side of baked) and eat it fresh out of the oven with a dollop of
coconut yoghurt.
I make this but in such a basic way — with no special equipment bar a good blender... I just blend the meat of 2 Thai Green Coconuts with enough
coconut water to make a
yoghurt -
like consistancy, then add 1/2 a probiotic tablet and blend again.

If tahini is not something you
like or can eat, another match made in heaven is almond dukkah and unsweetened
coconut yoghurt.
The pudding consists of a mango and turmeric custard, with cardamom and
coconut yoghurt, and a tangy turmeric and mango jam running through, layered
like a trifle with banana at the bottom, then the custard (and jam) and
coconut cream on top with cacao shavings.
It tastes
like a sweet bread - which I compensated for by covering it in a
coconut yoghurt icing / frosting.
If you're allergic to
coconut, or just don't
like it, feel free to use your favourite non-dairy
yoghurt.

Coconut Milk
Yoghurt in the morning these vegan, gluten - free and refined sugar - free bars are definitely a keeper.
Serve warm or cold, and add a topping or two if you
like (e.g.
yoghurt,
coconut cream, tahini, nuts, etc).
But you can also use (i) regular cow's milk (or goats milk), (ii) another non-dairy milk
like almond, cashew or oat milk, (iii)
coconut water or (iv) try using 1/2 — 1 cup of natural
yoghurt or kefir (a fermented milk drink) and thinning out with water, as required.

Now I still eat little or nothing before a run but I eat things
like eggs, avocado, vegetables, fish, meat (prepared in
coconut oil), nuts, tahin for breakfast, lunch and dinner and sometimes apples, grapefruit, French / Greek cow / sheep cheese and Greek - or sheep
yoghurt.

like to eat mine with some almond milk, or spooned over the top of some
coconut yoghurt.
Homemade
Coconut Milk
Yoghurt is a great alternative for everybody who would
like to go dairy - free.
Serve with a crunchy raw salad, and drizzle over some sesame oil, tahini and / or natural or
coconut yoghurt if you
like.
Divide the mixture evenly between two serving bowls, top with a dollop of
yoghurt,
coconut flakes and anything else you
like.
I
like berries,
coconut yoghurt and lemon juice, or for a savoury feast; bacon, a fried egg and a drizzle of maple syrup.
Water is my favourite thing to drink, but I also
like to make green vegetable juices and
coconut /
yoghurt fruit smoothies.
Ingredients 6 cups
coconut milk (make this your self with
coconut flakes and water) 1 medium can of
coconut milk half a vanilla bean pod 3 tablespoons of natural gelatin a
yoghurt culture if you
like is sweetened, stevia (optional)
Other substitution ideas that I've used in other recipes are sweet potato puree (use white sweet potato so it's not orange),
yoghurt (I make mine with
coconut milk), banana puree, or I've used water or milk + a little ground chia or linseed (a bit
like a watery chia or flax egg).
