Sure, the pungency of the shark made my eyes water, and the slimy blob of súr hvalur, or sour whale, required multiple shots of schnapps to keep the nausea at bay, but the
haggis -
like blood sausage (slátur) didn't taste half bad, and the smoked lamb was actually quite good.
The typical Scottish breakfast is unbeatable: eggs, bangers (sausages), rashers (bacon),
haggis, black pudding, boiled tomato, sauteed mushrooms, sometimes beans, tea / coffee, toast and jam, and an assortment of cold items
like cereals and fruit salads.
In Scotland, a meal of neeps, tatties and (vegetarian)
haggis found its way into my wary heart; in Portugal my friend and I sipped capirinhas
like locals; and after a treacherous donkey ride to the top of the island of Santorini I gobbled down a fry - filled lamb gyro
like it was my job.
But to be fair, this is a survival horror game, and some people
like that sort of thing, in the same way some people enjoy the music of the Black - Eyed Peas and
haggis.
