I like in my platformer games, it's the ability to also make my own levels and plays those made of others.

platformers are your thing, you can't go wrong with Half - Genie Hero, the titular belly - dancer will certainly have you tapping your feet to the beat - just make sure you play
in Hard Core Mode if you
like a challenge!
Rad Rodgers tries to evoke the great
platformers of the 90s but it succeeds only
in part, failing to provide a compelling and challenging gameplay
like the ones it's inspired by, using a sometimes forced humour and and offering us a too short experience.
Thanks to its cooperative mode, its lifespan and relatively low price, this is a game that won't be out of its depth
in any good Nintendo Switch collection, even if it somehow feels
like a victim of the amount of 2D
platformers on the console.
Most of them take themes that I have never seen
in a 2D
platformer before, from a world that looks
like it was taken straight out of various European countries to a jungle that's also a fruit processing plant.
While it has its pluses thanks to a varied characters roster, it also feels
like it still embodies many of the problems that affected 2D
platformers in their day, while lacking any of the elements that made them good.
Because of this, I wasn't always motivated to go back and find what I was missing whereas
in games
like Super Mario 3D World and other
platformers from Nintendo I typically did
like to go back and find collectibles.
Unless a game was run on PC and not sold on a gaming
platformer like Steam, you will never see kids
in video games where the player can kill them.
Games
like Cuphead, Super Meat Boy, Celeste, and a slew of other fantastic games are leading the way for
platformers in 2018, and I couldn't help but want to see Nintendo inject some of the same originality found
in those games, but nonetheless, the game is still a solid
platformer and has the heart of a classic Nintendo
platformer.
Though the title plays as an action
platformer with plenty of shooting, it doesn't feel
like a shooter
in the traditional sense, with an equal emphasis placed on exploration, jumping, and plenty of light puzzle - solving along the way.
All
in all, it plays
like the best possible Baby's First
Platformer; if any given Mario game is the perceived limit of the genre, Poi is the measuring stick to make sure you're doing it right.
Once you are
in a level, gameplay plays
like a typical
platformer.
And I
like 2D
platformers rendered
in attractive 3D.
In some ways, it's super smart - if you just casually play
platformers like this, you can have fun, and if you die too many times, you can get the invincible suit to help you further.

MCS is an action
platformer in the same vein as the
likes of Bubble Bobble or Rainbow Islands, but given the modern retro overhaul.
Sure, it might look
like a mobile title and some of its gameplay systems certainly suggest a healthy dose of that design DNA, but look past its lo - fi veneer and you'll discover a wacky little 2D action
platformer that doesn't ask much of you but gives a lot of entertainment
in return.
Funky Kong has a lot of special abilities,
like being able to infinitely roll, float
in the air, and ignore spikes, that makes the game significantly easier, which is perfect if you want to play with buddy that may not feel too comfortable with
