The design won't win any awards, but we do
like that a keyboard dock with extra ports is available.
The look lacks confidence and the bold strokes of a real designer, it's also missing any cool extras
like the keyboard dock of the Eee Pad Transformer and the screen falls short of IPS alternatives.
A multimedia dock and keyboard dock are also available — the latter won't turn your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 into a netbook though, it's much more
like the keyboard dock for the original iPad.
The Bluetooth keyboard has its own battery for operation, but it doesn't supply auxiliary power
like the keyboard docks for the HP Envy X2 or Acer Iconia W510 - 1422.

like experience, users can simply attach the removable
keyboard dock for quick input.
Apart from the device itself, the world's largest retailer will also offer a range of associated iPad accessories
like keyboards,
docks and the
like.
Acer will also provide a full sized
keyboard docking station for the W500, allowing you to use the Windows tablet
like a portable notebook.
Like apart from being a conventional tablet device, the Transformer created a niche of its own by also including a
keyboard dock as part of the package.
It recently made an appearance at an event in with a
keyboard docking station that made it more
like a netbook.
When attached to the
keyboard dock the device does legitimately feel
like a laptop — the
dock uses the same
keyboard as many of Lenovo's recent ultrabooks, which is a very good thing — but by itself the device is a light and sturdy tablet.

Now we realize those aren't exactly release date confirmations, but it certainly looks
like a number of retailers are getting ready to stock up on some thin 10.1 - inch tablets and
keyboard docks.
Looking a bit
like the Asus Padfone products which allow you to
dock a phone into a screen and
keyboard module the Transformer Book V5 does a similar thing but allows you to
dock an Android phone into the back of a WIndows Notebook thus allowing the user to either view the phone as a small window or to go full - screen for a full Android laptop experience.
This looks
like a comparable deal for the money compared to Apple, plus if you get the
dock in addition to the
keyboard you get a memory card slot for added memory.
However, with the
keyboard included in the box it gives a more immediate laptop -
like experience than something
like the Surface Pro 4 which sells the Type Cover
keyboard dock separately.
There's proper
keyboard that will effectively turn your tablet into a netbook, there's a
keyboard cover,
like the Surface, as well as a conventional
dock.
When in use, the device
docks perfectly onto the
keyboard for a true PC -
like experience.
And the Transformer also has the unique (from a Honeycomb point of view at least) option of becoming a notebook
like machine when
docked into the fully functional
keyboard.
And of course
like Asus's other Transformer tablets there's also an optional
keyboard dock available for an extra $ 149.
The Photon 4G doesn't plug into a
keyboard dock like the Atrix 4G, but it is compatible with the HD Station, a $ 99 accessory that lets you connect the phone to a large monitor or TV.
Like the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, Lenovo's 10.1 - inch display tablet will have an optional
keyboard dock.
Sony also showed off another tablet which looked
like an Eee Pad Slider — the
keyboard dock however is actually detachable.
Then there are larger 10 - to 12 - inch models that come with a stylus or a
docking keyboard,
like the Microsoft Surface Pro.
Still, # 500 is a lot for a tablet even if it does go
like the clappers, is made of aluminium and has a cracking
keyboard dock with a built - in extra battery.
It's rocking the Tegra 2 chip so it plays games and does media
like Honeycomb was designed to do, has all sorts of ports for connectivity, and there's a cool
keyboard dock for easy typing.

Another good thing is that it has so many accessories

We also
like the fact that the hinge
dock drops down slightly to form a back bulge, raising the
keyboard to a slight angle for more comfortable typing.
And all this before you consider the
likes of the Asus Transformer Pad Inifinity or cheaper Asus Transformer Pad 300 and its nifty
keyboard dock and tablet combo.
Much
like with Asus's Transformer line of tablets, you'll be able to purchase a separate
keyboard dock for the PadFone Station (which would effectively mean you're
docking a phone, into a tablet, onto a
keyboard).
This sort of magnetic attachment click - on is catching on, as a few other Windows 8 tablets will feature similar magnetic easy - click
keyboards,
dockings, cradles, and the
likes in the months to come, though Microsoft's feature is unique.
And
like Asus's original Transformer model, the Transformer Prime comes with an optional
keyboard docking accessory that effectively turns the tablet into an Android - powered notebook PC.
Like the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, the Asus Vivo Tab RT uses a hybrid design, with a removable
keyboard dock that both turns the tablet into a laptop and provides extra battery life — Asus claims «all - day use» but hasn't specified hour figures.
We
like how easy it is to change modes using the magnetic hinge, the comfy
keyboard dock and strong performance for the price.
Like the rest of the Transformer line, you both the 300 and the Infinity can be attached to an optional
keyboard dock for a boost in battery life and access to a full QWERTY
keyboard.
As it stands there are still a couple of minor issues with the build, such as the selection of alternate
keyboards and audio
dock volume controls, but
like we said they're minor and should not affect the overall experience.
Other useful hardware are things
like a USB 3.0 port, optional
keyboard, optional
docking, a 2MP front camera and a 5MP rear camera.
When we put it in presentation mode, we noticed a panel on the back of the
keyboard dock that folds down and reveals some of the innards of the
dock like the fans.
Watch out though because you feel
like you've got a true laptop when the
keyboard is
docked but, just as with the Samsung and HP, you'll hit the limits pretty quickly if you treat it
like one.
You'll need to purchase the
docking keyboard separately ($ 149.99 list) if you're after a laptop -
like portable experience,
like the one on the HP Envy X2.
It also has optional active pen, USB Type - C, and on the
keyboard dock another 3 USB 3.0 ports, LAN, HDMI, and VGA ports, as well as optional 4G LTE, with a 6.5 hour battery life from the tablet, but a Surface
like 14 hour battery life when
docked into the
keyboard.
I would have
liked to see the
keyboard dock contain an Ethernet port, a useful feature for business users.
My money would go towards the prime, and the money I'd save on apps and fussy add - ons
like the smart cover would go towards the
keyboard dock
Accessories will include a
keyboard dock that makes it look
like a netbook, some sweet connectors that allow USB and SDCard input and an array of Samsung and 3rd party cases.
