Knick, and Paul Sorrentino's The Young Pope come to mind), the inflating budgets, the flirtation with feature - length episodes, as seen with the
likes of Westworld and Game of Thrones.
A few easy jokes can be forgiven for the overall quality, even if «Red Oaks» doesn't feel quite as essential as other upcoming shows
like «Fargo,» «The
Knick» and «The Returned.»
Soderbergh mined a similar milieu for amazing drama in The
Knick, and The Alienist looks
like it should appeal to fans of that show.
