like Can Fin Homes, Caplin Point, Suprajit Engg etc convinced that how a quality
midcap or a small cap can make miracles!
SBI Bluechip is benchmarked to BSE 100 but invests in
midcap which I feel is
like mixing kerosene in petrol.
With a few exceptions, the above reads
like lists of common large cap stocks, with a few
midcaps thrown in.
For a long term portfolio such as that for retirement, you can consider funds
like Quantum Long term Equity, PPFAS Long term value fund, Sundaram Select
Midcap Fund.
But when I see HDFC
Midcap and ICICI Pru Discovery funds, I found that they have many large cap companies along with mid cap in their portfolio, hence I thought these funds are not very aggressive
like DSP Micro Fund.
If strong evidence is suggesting cyclical success, core ETFs
like iShares Russell 1000 Index ETF (IWB) and iShares S&P
MidCap 400 Index ETF (IJH) would be preferable to SPLV.
