I use it without adding other flours to it, but do have to modify recipes a bit (

we have a 4-1/2 month old and we've been slowly introducing the baby solids to him since he demanded
more and
more formula (which has been for about 2 months now) everyone told me to start him on rice cereal, we tried it and to this day it still messes his little tummy up for a few days (even though i» monly feeding him a tsp full of it with his
applesauce) as far as the baby purees go he only eats
applesauce, so i decided to skip the baby
applesauce and just buy the regular natural
applesauce (much
more — 75 % less cost wise) he loves it... i think he
likes it better than the baby stuff!

You can use
more pumpkin in place of the
applesauce or vice versa, or sub an equal measure of peeled and finely grated zucchini for both, but I found I
liked this combo best.
Additionally, I'll substitute in a
more nutritious ingredient that has some natural sweetness
like flavored yogurt,
applesauce, or prune puree.
He usually unrolls when we try giving him different foods,
