I would
like to know where you find the dates and
in some of your other
recipe you use coconut oil and rolled
oats.
Obvious ones
like peanut butter and jelly, which was featured
in my recent overnight
oats recipe, come to mind.
If you use rolled
oats or quick
oats in this
recipe it would end up
like a mushy soup.
The chickpea protein burgers, which are full of good stuff
like chickpeas, quinoa, sweet potato,
oats and red pepper, and flavoured with Heather's own Montreal veggie seasoning (
recipe also
in the book) and a generous dash of liquid smoke.
While not typically used to entirely replace another flour —
like wheat flour —
in a
recipe (due to changes
in density and the resulting texture), oat flour is frequently used to replace some portion of another flour
in a
recipe in order to bring the unique health benefits of
oats into that
recipe.
A lot of the sweeter
recipes have rolled
oats in them, which is no surprise really considering they are Scottish but I
like oats so that's always a good starting point, picking a
recipe where the main ingredient is appealing.
Also I see that rolled

recipe but this seems
like a great thing to add to breakfast oatmeal just to give it a variety of flavors.
Whereas now I've figured how to adapt the
recipe to my
liking by adding
in chunky nuts
like pecans and hazelnuts for a textural contrast, but also learning to love the individual crunchy
oats as they're literally the perfect porridge sprinkle!

Several months ago I made Flourless Banana Berry Muffins from
oats instead of flour and I really
like them, so I went back to that
recipe for inspiration and used old fashioned
oats ground
in the blender
in place of flour.

like there are some whole
oats, not just oat flour
in the crumble mixture, although there aren't any whole
oats in the

You can use whatever

like to / need to soak your
oats to aid
in digestion, then these aren't the
recipes for you!
So basically, by processing the old - fashioned
oats like you do
in your
recipe, you are making quick - cook
oats.
I have a slightly different soaked - oat granola
recipe that I love because the
oats retain their shape and the granola bakes up
in a 300 degree oven just
like a «regular» granola.
Even though savory oatmeal might not have much
in common with Italian cuisine, I think that savory
oats speak loudly about the types of
recipes I am constantly thinking about and the type of
recipes I
like to come up with.
, but I am an oat - intolerant coeliac
like yourself and I always use buckwheat flakes as a substitute
in recipes that call for
oats and they seem to work fine.
So, as I have previously mentioned
in my breakfast bars
recipe, I do
like oats for breakfast and even though they are not paleo they are very fulfilling.
The
recipe calls for mashed bananas to be mixed with zucchini and carrots as well as vegan staples
like chia seeds using either water or whichever milk substitute you prefer to blend it all
in with rolled
oats.
I've also used rolled
oats for part of the flour

Most

oats in the refrigerator, softening the grains and making them palatable much
like oatmeal that is actually cooked.
Quinoa grains can be cooked
like rice and quinoa flakes can be used as an alterative to
oats in almost any
recipe.
A teaspoon or so of any raw nuts and seeds you
like - I used 1 teaspoon each of unsweetened coconut, pumpkin seeds, and a few rolled
oats that I also use
in my homemade Raw Muesli
recipe (on the blog as well).
