I haven't read all the comments yet but it doesn't come with a data cable
like the older Kindles, you have to buy one.
I own a Kindle Keyboard that still works really good, but recently was looking to upgrade only to discover that Kindle does not have an e reader that supports my ebooks and audible books
like my old kindle.
I like the old kindle better for reading novels; however, I was surprised I could read novels on the newer one as well — and if the electricity goes out, that backlight would be nice — I've been reading more and more on my kindles... like you, I still buy print books but I'm able to buy many many more books because of kindle — I can «try out» authors and books I may not if I didn't have it!

Kindles; quality was acceptable on most (though on several the inset image was miniscule), except for the Kindle for iOS app, and my

Amazon used to advertise this on screensaver images for

like the Kindle Keyboard, but they don't seem to bring much attention to it anymore.

kindle I understand the benefits of an e-reader but i'm

like paperbacks the feel of the paper is wonderful although not a space saver.
Honestly give me paperwhite guts in a package the size of an oasis without the funky form factor or requiring the case for decent battery life, keep the page press buttons

Some have touchscreens; others (

This new policy mostly applies to
older Kindles like the Kindle Keyboard and Kindle DX since Amazon removed the ability to browse the web over 3G on the Kindle Touch, and there's no 3G option for the Kindle 4 at all.

Kindles, but the newer tablets and smartphones are fine.
But now... as long as you have a great
kindle ebook cover (and not one that looks
like a 14 - year -
old with a bootleg copy of Photoshop made it... and you write a decent (and passionate) book then your self published book will look EXACTLY the same as a Stephen King novel.
